Lot Fingerboard

I have two violas to try for a week. Some questions?

I have two violas to try for a week. One is $ 1500 and the other is $ 1800. I think the dollar has considerably 1500 a better tone, but it is not in very good condition. The strings are a little too away from the key relative to other violas and hard to reach notes accurately. In addition, the peg on the bottom of the viola does not seem to get into the hole just because it's a bit sticky. Is it solve these problems? If yes, how much would it cost? In addition, the finish is faded in parts of body and there are scratches. Is it possible to have it repaired or something? I do not know much about this stuff ... I do not play.

I'm a player Violin and where if I'd go with the one I thought sounded the best and one that shows ur best talent, if u are spending lots of money on a viola u have to be absolutely happy with it. Try both and see how you go, if u are worried after the distance between the strings and finger board, it brings to a repair place and they should be able to adjust the bridge height for you. As for appearance, I personally think that the more 'vintage' they look the best but it is personal taste. Go to the one you feel most comfortable playing. All the best! RclTed.
